ODONTOLOGY-PEDIATRICS
From
birth until adolescence we have peculiar morphological
characteristics, pyschological, diet, habit control, etc –
different from those we have as adults. For this reason specific
treatment is required for this stage in life.
In SOL-DENTAL, to achieve our aim of being a family-clinic, we are
especially committed to dental care from birth to adolescence
allowing one to reach adult age with healthy and aesthetic teeth.
Two
totally distinct concepts are involved:
*1º- The
morphology of one´s first teeth, medical problems that usually
occur, diet, correct hygiene, bad habits, lack of fluoride etc. Bad
positioning of teeth or discrepancies in size and shape in respect
of the jaw or palate – a discrepancy more frequent due to an
evolutionary problem (we are evolving towards fewer molars now that
our diet has varied but it is evolving faster than the size of the
palate which causes a condition which is to have a too-small palate
too small to hold all the teeth, altering their functionality,
occlusion, the possibility of good hygiene and future aesthetic).
All of this is much easier to correct in infancy as we are more
elastic at such ages permitting the possibility of maintaining
spaces – always a better option than having to create them.
Our recommendation is that you consult us as soon as possible so
that your child may familiarise himself with the clinic and his
Doctor who will also be able to advise regarding good hygiene and
eating habits.
*2º- The
psychology of a child is different to that of an adult requiring
sensitive treatment from the doctor and nurse. To achieve this
objective SOL-DENTAL ensures their professionals are correctly
qualified and able to perform within an accomodating infrastructure
with such compliments as: specific space in the waiting rooms,
inter-oral cameras and mirrors so as to see the hind teeth, games
and diplomas given to reward good behaviour, special containers for
first teeth etc. We also provide all the written information parents
need so, together, we may achieve the ideal which is to have as few
visits to the dentist as possible.
